Lesson Plan

 Aims:
Get students to learn and be able to pronounce different professions the teachers present.
Get students to widen their vocabulary.

 Objectives:
By the end of the classthe students will know many professions, and will be able to write simple sentences as, for example, ‘He is a carpenter’.

 Anticipated occurrences:
Not being able to teach everything that wasplanned, because of students’ behavior.

 Assumption of learners’ knowledge:
They have already learned personal pronouns which is a key point when asking them to write sentences with theprofessions.

 Resources:
Pictures; handouts; whiteboard.

 Procedure:
1. Teachers separate the class in half; one half on one side of the classroom, the others on the other side. One half of the Stsare given images where pronouns are represented; the other half is given the written pronouns and they have to get the written pronoun with the corresponding image. This way Sts get in the English classmood. 10 minutes.
2. Brainstorming; ask Sts about professions, they will answer in L1, but Ts will translate them and write them on thewhiteboard. Sts copy. 5 minutes
3. Tstack pictures of different uniformed people on the whiteboard and pointing to each picture, ask Sts the different professions. Sts raise their hands and walk toward the whiteboard to write under thepictures the corresponding profession. Example ‘She is a police officer’.10 minutes
4. Ts write on the whiteboard the different professions but the letters are not in correct order, so Sts must arrange them and get the right profession....
