Class College 101

The expectations and goals that I have for myself as a college student here at Aims Community College is to graduate and to be at a 3.0 GPA or greater. If I don't graduate, it will be because I have transferred my credits to the University of Northern Colorado. There, I plan to obtain my Masters as an Occupational Therapist. I plan toreach my goals by prioritizing my time on the things that are most important to me and eliminate the distractions and all the things that become an obstacle for my success. I am currently taking English 121 with Professor Ort and I hope to obtain an A in his class. I am also taking Literature 115 with him as well and hope to also obtain an A with him. I was going to take Fitness Walking but thatclass was cancelled due to insufficient inscribers. That class was replaced with a 3 credit points with Conversational Spanish 1 with Bryce as the professor and there should be no problem with me passing his class because I already know spanish. This class was a requirement if I wanted to obtain an Associates of Science. This class which I am writing this journal for is College 101 with my advisor,her name is Tripician.I have a feeling this class is going to be hard but hopefully I will also get an A in this class too. The last course I am taking is Math 045. This is an online-hybrid class that I was really nervous about taking it. Not only am I taking my first online class, but overall, I am a freshman. I hope to also obtain an A in this class despite Math being my least favorite class.As of today, I like the hybrid class. I am no longer so nervous about it.
I hope that I will be able to arrive to all my classes on time, be ready, be prepared to participate one hundred percent and turn in all my assignments on time. It has been six years since I have been in a classroom and even though I am have gotten a hang of it again, I have to admit that sometimes I feel lost in thediscussion. I am so grateful that Aims has a center of volunteers who gratefully tutor any student who needs help with thier homework. I know as an adult, we come across obstacles in our lives that interrupt our routines. Adults have a lot of responsibilities such as being housewives or are employed. Some have children and the responsibility as a parent can be very stressfull sometimes. I don't haveany children of my own, however I am a religious person and I engage in spiritual activities that I concider to be my entire life, my first and most important career in my life. I also tend to get migrains and have other medical matters to attend. However, I knew this before I signed up to take courses and I plan on following through and finishing. I hope I don't miss any classes. But I am alsorealistic that anything can happen. I want to do my best at being a student example here at college. I have support from my family. My husband, my mother and my father are very proud of me for going back to school. I myself already feel a great deal of satisfaction. I feel like participation in class is an important part of a student's curriculum because the instructor can observe our progress andwhat we need to work on. The more a student participates in class, the more the Professor will know what they need to do in order for the student to obtain maximum benefit of the course. The other benefit on participating in class is that everything that is learned in class will stick to one's short-term memory better and maybe in the long run, all that information can be passed over to the long termmemory. Particiate for me means that the student will ingage in conversations during class, comment, ask questions, team up when there is a need for making teams, take notes, do the handout assigments and also pay attention to what the professor is teaching. After all, we pay for these courses. It should mean alot to us to get the maximum out of these courses. When we take advantage of all the...
