Leukemia
Cancer is a common disease in which thecells start to divide non-stop and begin to invade other tissues. Cancer is not just one disease, there are many, in fact, there are over 100 types of cancers, one of them is Leukemia.Leukemia is cancer that starts on the tissue that forms blood. The bone marrow produces stem cells, also known as unspecialized cells, which are cells that have the ability totransform into any, white blood cells, red blood cells, or platelets. When a person has leukemia, the stem cells become abnormal red and white blood cells and platelets. In this case, these cells don’t die when they are supposed to, and the start to accumulate and don’t let the healthy cells do their proper job.
There are two main types of leukemia, depend on howfast the disease takes to advance and kills the person. The first type is call chronic leukemia; is very hard to find, because it usually doesn’t show symptoms yet, until more andmore damaged white blood cells are created, and the second one is called acute leukemia, this one is when the white blood cells loose all their health and the disease take control ofthe person faster.
