Possible Distribution of Contents:

1st Grade Introduction Unit: “Classroom Language”.
Unit purpose: To provide students with some basic classroom language that will enable them to communicate in English at all times during their foreign language lessons.

Unit 1: “Personal Identification”.
Unit purpose: To enable students to introduce themselves and others, and to exchange personaldetails.

8 weeks: August, September and October.
INTRO Lesson 1 Establish type of work that will be conducted during the school year. (Rules and Evaluation). INTRO Lesson 2 Apply diagnostic exam. INTRO Lesson 3 1.1 Text using greetings and farewells to introduce some new vocabulary for ss to recognize and understand quotidian situations.

INTRO Lesson 4 1.2 Text using expressions aboutcommunication in the classroom for ss to follow instructions and commands.

INTR0 Lesson 5 1.2 Text introducing information for ss to ask for permission, call the roll and write the date.

INTRO Lesson 6 1.3 Text using expressions to communicate in and out of the classroom. (Repetition, interruption and finding information).

Lesson 7 1.1 Text about introducing oneself and others for ss to get to knoweach other and to notice the use of contractions (I am – I’m). Lesson 10 1.1. Text providing information about professions and occupations for ss to recognize cognates and the use of articles (a - an).

Lesson 8 1.1 Text giving information about names and last names for ss to notice the use of personal pronouns (my, her, his). Lesson 11 1.1 Text for ss to identify and /or complete formatscontaining personal details (age, phone numbers, occupation, etc).

Lesson 9 1.1 Text introducing other people for ss to identify demonstrative pronouns (this – that).

Lesson 12 1.1 Text providing information about countries and nationalities.

Lesson 13 1.2 Text (dialogue) for ss to notice how to ask and answer about personal and non personal details (ages, phone numbers, e-mail, addresses,nationality).

Lesson 14 1.2 Text production (Conversation) for students to ask and answer about personal details.

Lesson 15 1.2 Text providing expressions with appropriate intonation when introducing oneself and another people and when asking about personal and non-personal details.

1.2 Text providing printed material for ss to check spelling ofnew or unfamiliar vocabulary related to personal and nonpersonal details. (Use of dictionaries, internet…) make emphasis on punctuation.

1.2 Text for ss to work on production of individual sentences in preparation to write personal introductions. (Fill out a format, to complete a descriptive paragraph).

1.2 Text for ss to work on production of sentences in preparation to write about otherpeople information. Integration: Present a general idea for ss to produce a project.
