Backpacks for Middle School

The people you look up to for reason don’t reason at all. Teacher and administration has lost the ability to look at a problem and find the completesolution. When you are in kinder garden the first things that you buy are pencils, paper, and a backpack. ASFM middle school students have been banned to have backpacks. That is unnecessary,especially because of the false connection that was created between backpacks and stealing, student’s physical health and storage problems.

In this school there is a false relationship between backpacks andstealing. A student steals 1000 pesos from an other student and he uses his backpack to put the 1000 pesos in. What does the school do? Well they don’t try to fix the problem by fixing the kid; theyfix the problem by banning backpacks. Stealing is eliminated by correcting moral judgment, not by eliminating tools that are important for other purposes. If a student cheats on a test by putting theanswers in his agenda, will they ban agendas? The answer is no they won’t because he could of easily put it in a scrap peace of paper. Well the student could of easily put the 1000 pesos it in apocket in his pants. But the school doesn’t think about that. There for this proves that the backpack can be a resource for stealing but the one stealing here is the student not the backpack.

The secondpoint is the unnecessary accusation that regards to the student hurting his/hers back because of the backpacks. This is false, there are studies saying that the only way you can hurt your back is byputting more that half of your weight on the backpack. The first thing that they say is “it hurts you back”. Then they say, “ You don’t even need a backpack, you aren’t carrying a heavy load.” Theyjust proved their first point wrong. If we aren’t carrying a heavy load then how is it going to hurt our back? There for backpacks in the way that we tend to use them don’t hurt our backs.
