Mexicali, B.C. a 26 de noviembre del 2012.POLLINATION.- Is the process by which pollen from the anthers of a flowers is transferred to the stigma of the same flower or of another flower. This enables fertilization which results indevelopment of seeds from the flower. Most plants needs outside help in moving pollen, such as wind or insects likes bees and butterflies.
FERTILIZATION.- When ripe pollen from an anther of the same kind offlower catches on the stigma, each pollen grain sends out a tiny threadlike tube. The tube grows down through the style and pierces one of the ovules in the ovary. This process is calledfertilization. Each ovule must receive the contents of the pollen tube before it can develop into a seed.
