1.0Introduction:

This report is done on the concept of leadership in the organisation. Themain purpose of this report is to define the leadership style of 3 business leaders with the help of three appropriate theories.
The selected leaders are:
1) Steve Jobs (Founder of Apple Company)
2) Sir Richard Branson (Founder of Virgin company) and
3) Sir Terry Leahy (CEO of Tesco).

Firstly, little background about the leaders and their companies will be provided. Secondly,selected theories will be defined. Thirdly, with the help of appropriate theories their leadership styles will be defined. Finally, conclusion a will be developed from the analysis and recommendations will be made.
1.1Background:

In today’s competitive and economic driven business environment, every business needs a leader. The leader who can set up a vision for his followers and the one who has theability to show light in the darkness.
There are many theorists who had tried to define leadership in their own ways. Warren Bennis in (Mausik, 2001:101) has defined leadership as a beauty which is hard to identify but can be found when one sees it. According to Oriaku and Oriaku in (Mausik, 2001:35), “Leadership is about influencing people to get things done to the standard and quality abovetheir norm, and doing so willingly”.
However in short sentence Leadership can be defined as the process of delivering a vision for the future, motivating the followers and getting their involvement towards the shared organisational goals (Armstrong, 2011:22)
2)Steve jobs( Background):

Steve jobs was the CEO of Apple Computers Inc. He had established Apple in 1970s. He had changed the face ofthe modern day IT industry with his innovations such as Macbook, the iPod and the iphone. In 1984, he had created the first small computer called Macintosh with graphic interface.
He was eventually forced to leave his own company by board of directors for conflicts with the management and for making bad decisions. He had also run two other companies successfully called Next Computers and Pixar.Pixar was later taken over by Disney Company. Similarly Next was taken by his Apple computers Inc. The Apple computer has flourished very well under his leadership and was recognised worldwide for its innovative products as mentioned earlier.
Some of his carrier achievements are as follows:
* Nominated as the most powerful person in Business by Fortune Magazine in 2007
* Awarded withnational medal of technology in 1985
* Awarded with Samuel S. Beard award in 1987
