Frida Kahlo the Artist

Frida Kahlo did not have an easy life, ever since childhood she had to fight for her life. In this specific Self-Portrait I cansee Frida just how they picture her to be in the movies or essays. Her self-portrait indicates that she was very powerful and sure of herself. At least that’s how Isee it, she looks like she was a very serious person and it seems she is having some issues with her hand. Maybe it hurts? This self-portrait also seems to be kind ofdark and gloomy because of the colors. Maybe she decided to paint it when she was going through some hard stuff in her life. Even though this painting has dark colors,I do like it. I'm not really sure why but I do find myself asking why she painted herself in so many different ways.

Kahlo had a rough life, ever sinceshe was little she only knew about pain and suffering. But every time something bad happened to her, Frida would always fight back and get better or just overcomeall obstacles. After reading the essay given to us I have a new sense of respect for her. She was a very tough woman and not only did she fight for herself but she wasalso very patriotic. She fought for the rights of her country, she loved her heritages very much and that is something that not everybody does. I think the title ofthe essay says it all "Frida Kahlo: Triumph over Tragedy". It says that she was set to have a tragic life but she triumph over all the deceptions that life gave her.It was a good title for an amazing person. The title and the essay show you what went on with her life and actually explains the reason as to why this title was made
