Lincoln film Review

The film “Lincoln”, directed by Steven Spielberg offers a sight in the life of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States ofAmerica. The film focuses on his final months in office during the civil war, and fight with everyone, whether they're allies or enemies, all this too start a new path for the country were everyone isfree and there end the tyranny of slavery.

Amazingly, this film lets all the main and supportive actors like Sally Field, David Strathairn, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Spader, Hal Holbrook andTommy Lee Jones shine as much as posible in their respective role. This film was a true gift to those who were born in this country a free people, this gives us a glimpse of the life of one of the manwho gave freedom to this country.

The roles played by Stephen Henderson and Gloria Reuben showed an exciting scene side of the stuggles of those who benefited the most from 13th Amendment to theConstitution that abolished slavery.
One of the best scenes of the movie was before the anti-climatic ending, where Lincoln gets shot. Thaddeus Stevens, who was played by Tommy Lee Jones, foldsand carries the successfully and hard-fought for 13th Amendment in it's original form, to his house.
He walks in and hands it to his housekeeper, played by S. Epatha Merkerson . She takes it andcarries it up to her bedroom where she reads it.

Then, in her bedroom attire, she kisses Mr. Stevens on the lips, as a stereotypical couple is often portrayed in Hollywood films. This kiss was aconclusion to unspoken prophesy of the learned and freed slave in the beginning of the film that stated to Mr. Lincoln that the process of freedom for the slaves would take a hundred years just toreceive the right to vote.

This film has not only shown what this people have done to gave freedom to those who didn't had it, but it gives us that reminder that we’ve come a long way down history.
