Los adverbios. Nivel básico
INTRODUCTION
The adverbios (adverbs) are invariable words that complement the verb. They indicate time, place, manner and quantity. They can be placed anywhere in the sentence:
Mañana viene Juan. (Tomorrow, Juan comes)
Juan viene mañana. (Juan comes tomorrow)

The adverbs are words that modify a verb, adjective or another adverb. In a sentence they indicate place, time, manner... As we’ve mentioned, the adverbs are invariable and therefore don’t have gender or number.
ADVERBS OF PLACE, TIME, MANNER, QUANTITY
PLACE (LUGAR):
• Aquí (here), allí (there), allá (over there), lejos (far), cerca (close), fuera (outside), encima(on top), atrás (behind), debajo (under). Examples:
Aquí está mi hermano. (here’s my brother)
La montaña está allí. (The mountain is there)
Mis tíos viven lejos de Barcelona. (My uncles live far from Barcelona)
Tus libros están encima de la mesa. (Your books are on top of the table)
TIME (TIEMPO):
• Ahora (now), mañana (tomorrow), ayer (yesterday), luego (later), tarde (late), nunca (notever), temprano (early), hoy (today), entonces (then), después (afterwards), siempre (always), jamás (never).
MANNER (MODO):
• Bien (good), mal (bad), regular (fairly good), despacio (slow), deprisa (quickly), así (like that), mejor (better). Examples:
Pepe dibuja muy bien. (Pepe draws very well)
Mi padre conduce despacio. (My father drives slowly)

Estarás mejor así. (You’ll be betterthat way)
• Most adjectives can turn into adverbs by adding the –mente ending. Examples:
Rápida / rápidamente. (Quick / quickly)
Fácil / fácilmente. (Easy / easily)
Fiel / Fielmente. (Faithful / faithfully)
Estupendo/ estupendamente. (Stupendous / stupendously)
QUANTITY (CANTIDAD):
• Bastante (enough), mucho (much), demasiado (too much), más (more), nada (nothing), poco (little),muy (very), tan (so, as). Examples:
Mi hijo come mucho. (My son eats a lot)
Las verduras me gustan poco. (I don’t like vegetables much)
Los chicos necesitan más educación en el colegio. (Children need more education in school)
ADVERBS OF AFFIRMATION AND NEGATION
AFFIRMATION (AFFIRMATION):
• Sí (yes), también (also), cierto (true), ciertamente (certainly), efectivamente (indeed), claro (ofcourse), verdaderamente (truly)... Examples:
¿Quieres venir? Sí, ya voy. (Do you want to come? Yes, I’ll be right there)
Me gustan las novelas históricas. (I like historical novels)
Y ¿te gusta la poesía? Sí, también. (And do you like poetry? Yes, also)
Efectivamente, la casa necesita una mano de pintura. (Indeed, the house needs a touch of paint)
NEGATION (NEGACIÓN):
• No (no), jamás(never), nunca (not ever), tampoco (neither). Examples:
No me gusta viajar sola. (I don’t like travelling alone)
María nunca bebe vino. (María never drinks wine)
Jamás te creerá. (He’ll never believe you)
DOUBT (DUDA):
• Quizá (perhaps), posiblemente (possibly), seguramente (probably). Examples:
Quizá vuelva a las cuatro. (Perhaps I’ll be back at four)
Seguramente ella está en el parque.(She’s probably in the park)

 INTRODUCCIÓN
Los adverbios son palabras invariables. Complementan al verbo. Indican tiempo, lugar modo...Pueden ir colocados en cualquier parte de la frase:
mañana viene
Juan, Juan viene mañana

Los adverbios sonpalabras que modifican a un verbo, un adjetivo o a otro adverbio. En la oración funcionan como circunstanciales. Como hemos mencionado, los adverbios son invariables por lo tanto no tienen género ni número.
ADVERBIOS DE LUGAR, TIEMPO, MODO, CANTIDAD
LUGAR:
• Aquí, allí, allá, lejos, cerca, fuera, encima, atrás, debajo
Ej: aquí está mi hermano
Ej: la montaña está allí
Ej: mis tíos viven...
