TheTwo Demon Lovers
When we speak about the demon, usually we can consider that the story will be mysterious and uncommon. The Demon lovers, the short story written by Elizabeth Bowen and thepoem “anonymous” represent both this same sensation, unless with a different background but with a similar drama. The Demon Lover short story and the poem narrow some differences and similitudes onthem that make each one an extraordinary piece of literature.
The Demon Lover, short story written by Elizabeth Bowen, the main character, Mrs. Drover, returning home to collect some personalbelongings during the aftermath of a recent bombing, she thinks of her long-dead fiancé, then appears mysteriously a letter of him reminding her the promise she made, she was afraid and terrified,about the unusual successes on this story the protagonist tried to escape about the promise she made ones, but at the end we can see that was impossible .
By the other hand, The Demon Lover, thepoem, represent the life of a woman how was happy to complete her dreams to travel with the man she loves, and she is planning to left her daughters, and telling them that they will be good, becauseshe is leaving, this story is involved on a mysterious environment , she is impressed about everything the man is telling her, about the ships, and the people who work for him, in contrast to the otherstory, this woman is happy and expected to start her new live, unless at the end she discovered that she made a mistake.
As a conclusion, both stories are written with a mysterious andattractive drama, that give each authentic characteristic, on both stories the ladies, are taken by the same lover, the Demon, one paying her promise and the other expecting a different kind of life, and...
