Los Generadores
Although the generated current is alternating current, can be rectified to obtain a continuouscurrent. In the accompanying diagram shows the current induced in a simple generator of a single phase. Most AC generators are of three phases.
The reverse process would be performed by an electricmotor, which converts electrical energy into mechanical.
Other systems for generating electric currents
Not only is it possible to obtain an electric current from mechanical energy of rotation but itis possible with any other type of energy as a starting point. From this broader perspective, the generators are classified into two main types:
* Primary: They convert energy into electricalenergy or otherwise receiving the initially available, such as alternators, generators, etc..
* Secondary: Deliver a part of the electrical energy received previously, ie, first receive energyfrom an electric current and stored as some sort of energy. Subsequently, the stored energy again transformed into electrical energy. One example is the rechargeable batteries.
Devices will begrouped according to specific physical process that underlies them.
[edit] Generators primary
Shows schematically the energy source and the physical process of conversion. It has been considered inall cases direct energy conversion. For example, hydrogen possesses chemical energy and can be converted directly into an electric current in a fuel cell. It would also be its combustion with oxygen...
