Los Hippies
Hippie is a person who joins a subculture that originated in the 60s. The word hippie derives from the English "hipster" and it used todescribe the previous subculture Beat Generation. This subculture also has its origin in the U.S. city of San Francisco and the Haight-Ashbury district. The hippieslistened psychedelic rock, took the sexual revolution, involved in radical activism and used to use some drugs to expand consciousness. In the late 70s, thehippies in the U.S. were much in fashion, but still are today when we can find some hippies, mostly in rural places. Hippies adopt a communal way of life based onlove and peace, take elements of religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism and the religions of the American Indians. Also they did not agree with the traditional valuesof the American middle class. The clothing and style showed the rebellion and the need for freedom of all social restrictions. The most important of thehippies was freedom and that was expressed in the used clothing. Instead of buying clothes in stores, they preferred to make their clothes. They refused to wearclothing that was fashionable. Women not wearing any makeup, her hair left long 100% natural, just wore ribbons or flowers to adorn their hair. The women's clothingwas varied. The clothing of the men was released and used unusual colors never before seen in men. Most of the men wore long beards. The fittings were mainlycolored bracelets, long necklaces, rings, and belts that made of materials that were in all his travels all made by hand with stones, seeds and other materials.
