Living Organism Clasification
Every living things is classified into ne or three domains. Domains are the largest and most general groups.
Kingdom- all living things in a domain are sorted intokingdoms, the members of one kingdom are more like each other than they are like the members of another kingdom.Ex: all animals are in the kingdom animalia
Phyla- Phylum all animals have a hollownerve cord Ex. Phylum Chordata
Class Ex. Mammalian have a backbone, nurse their young.
Order Ex. CArnivora have a backbone, nurse their young, and eat meat.
Family felidae: Ex. Cats have abackbone, nurse their young, eat meat, have retractable claws.
Genus Ex. Felis share the same things cannot roar, they can purr

Principal characteristics of Taxonomy
Taxonomy : Is the science of describing, naming and classifying organisms.
1) They ( taxonomist) use an eight- level system thatshared the same characteristics
2)Scientific names it remains the same for a specific kind of organism. Linnaeus simplified the name of living things in two part scientific name. The first part is thegenus name, the second part is the specific name.
3) Genus name with capital letters, specific name lowercase. Letter that is italicized. The name is always in latin.
4) Dichotomous key is atool for identifying organisms that uses a series of sequential paired descriptive statements. An aid that is used to identify organisms and there are only two alternative responses for each statement.The person choses the statement that describes the organism .
