THE HISTORY OF MEXICO

the history of Mexico, a country situated in the north of the American continent or, if you will, the northernmost portion of Mesoamerica, dates back to about 14,000 years ago (in accordance with the consensus of Clovis), in which an estimated occurred the first settlements of sedentary people. Before the conquest by the Spaniards in the sixteenth century, what is nowMexico was inhabited by peoples of advanced civilizations that interacted between them in varying degree, in the time and the territory.
The arrival of Europeans, Mexico was a mosaic of peoples and cultures. After the conquest, during 300 years of colonialism, it was still a country with a certain degree of homogeneity and common features.
At the dawn of the nineteenth century with theindependence that is reached of the Spanish empire, starts the process of final integration that gives rise to contemporary Mexico.

Periodization in Mexico's history is usually divided into four major periods. Before the history we have the prehistory which, unlike the European history, the prehistory of America is divided into three periods: the Period Arqueolitico that approximately the year 30,000 BC to 9500 BC; the Cenolitico of 9500 to 5000 BC and finally the Protoneolitico periodof 5000 to 2500 B.C.
