Como las naranjas y las uvas,
En un árbol se maduran,

Mi madre
En la cuna me meciste,
en tusbrazos me acunaste,
y con gran amor de madre,
! Cuántas cosas me enseñaste!

Me enseñaste que hay que darse,
que no es lo mismo que dar,

cuando tenía que llorar,
y meenseñaste a ser fuerte
en mi gran debilidad.

No me dejaste en herencia
ni un rosario de marfil...;
