Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa was born Agnes in, Macedonia, on August 26, 1910.  Her family was of Albanian descent. At the age of 20 she felt strongly the call of Godshe knew she had to be a missionary to spread the love of Christ, in May she took her initial vows as a nun. In the 70s, she visited places such as Amman, Jordan; London,England, New York, Sri Lanka, Australia, Tanzania, Venezuela, and Italy and more than 22 Indian cities. She has been recognized and acclaimed throughout the world and she hasreceived a number of awards and distinctions including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. Mother Teresa died on September 1997, in Calcutta, India, leaving behind her alegacy, a legacy of selfless service to people in need.
I think she’s considered as a unique person because she was the mother of not only the poor and sufferings and theunwanted, lonely and rejected ones. Her mission was to serve and free the downtrodden from hunger, pain and suffering. She was in the eyes of the people as a simple and trulyhuman person. Any who held her hand said that it was a unique spiritual experience.
Her thoughts were about God, love, peace and dying people, she always thought about herneighbor, she helped lepers people, she wanted to change the world. There are many interesting quotations by her like: “Be faithful in small things because it is in them thatyou strength lies”, there’s another one that said that “Love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love” and “Joy is a net of love by which you can catchsouls”.
She thought that being unwanted; unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody is such a greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.
