Manifest Destiny

The Manifest Destiny still remains with us, mainly in the United States. They continue in a way to try and remake other countries in their image. One aspect is that the United Statesbelieves or has the idea that they are the best country in the whole world. Also they believe they have the best government system and culture, that there is no country that can outrage them.Maybe, in this century they no longer believe that they have the right to own more land and conquer other countries. But they have gone too far on trying to make other countries around theworld like them. In this case we could talk about Iraq, how the U.S. tries so hard for that country to give up the war and make it similar to them. This country will go to great lengths to getwhat they want, they are not shy to do what is needed, and use whatever is necessary to get it.

Manifest Destiny in history was the idea that America was destined or had the right tostretch their territory to the west. By this they would bring all their culture and believes to the new territory they conquered. Also, that it was an “order” from God, that he gave them theright to own that line and make the changes.
In the image of the Manifest Destiny it’s clearly shown how they advance to the west and the changes that are occurring at the same time. In theleft side of the image we can observe that it’s all dark, this means that that part of the country doesn’t have light, or that they don’t believe in God. All the way to the right, we see theprogress and changes Manifest destiny has done. It’s all civilized with bridges, electricity and the train. The Manifest Destiny in the middle of the image indicates the progress, what it’sbringing to the new territory. It carries the bible in one hand indicating the word of God, they bring religion. Also in the other it brings the electricity line along with the trains.
