SYSTEM ACCESS
To Enter the Micros database programming mode
1. At the desktop screen double-click the EMC icon
2. In the “SERVER SELECTOR” area, one of the following should appear:
The “ip address” of the server (ie: 10.xxx.xxx.5)
-OR- The property marsha code followed by “micros1” (ie:boswfmicros1”)
Note: If the “SERVER SELECTOR” area is blank, type in the property marsha code
followed by “micros1” (ie: boswfmicros1”)

3. Click CONNECT
4. Log in with your user id and password assigned in Micros
NOTE: If you have not been assigned a user id and password for MICROS, see the
“ADDING EMPLOYEE EMC/RMC ACCESS” section of this manual.
NOTE: If this is the first time you areaccessing the EMC, you will be asked to change
your password

5. The EMC menu will appear

CONTROL PANEL ALLOWS ACCESS TO REBOOT AN INDIVIDUAL WORKSTATION
OR THE 9700 SYSTEM, OR TO SHUT DOWN OR TURN ON THE SYSTEM
TO RELOAD OR TURN ON/OFF THE SYSTEM AND ALL WORKSTATIONS
1. Select CONTROL PANEL under the SYSTEM heading

2. To reboot entire system, click the RELOAD button
Toturn off all workstations, click the SERVER APPLICATIONS button
To turn off all workstations and the system software, click the DOWN button
3. To turn on system software, click the SERVER APPLICATIONS button
To turn on all workstations, click the WORKSTATION OPERATIONS button

TO REBOOT AN INDIVIDUAL WORKSTATION THAT IS LOCKED UP OR NOT
WORKING
1. Select WORKSTATION under the SYSTEM heading-3-

2. Locate the workstation to be rebooted
3. Click the KILL button to shut down the workstation
4. Click the START button to turn on the workstation

When adding, removing, or changing a menu items, changes must be made in three
separate files:
MENU ITEM
MASTER

MENU ITEM
DEFINITION

MENU ITEM
PRICE

1- MENU ITEM MASTER FILE
This file contains all menu items and cooking instructions for all Micros outlets
The itemname in the MI MASTER file is the name that prints on all sales reports
Each item in the MI MASTER is linked to a ‘major’ and ‘family’ group which is used by
accounting to report sales

This file contains all menu items and cooking instructions for individual outlets
