To Install the Program
1. Insert the CD into the CD drive, go to the installation page and click the standalone button. A 30-day temporary license le is included with the package.



To Obtain a Standalone License File Locked to aComputer:
Go to the installation directory and run Echoid.exe. Copy the Locking Code 1 to the Computer Disk ID Locking Code eld on the Request for License Form.

Locked to a Computer ID Key:
Attach the Computer ID Key to your computer. Go to the installation directory and run Echoid.exe. Copy the Locking Code 2 to the Computer ID Key Locking Code eld on the Request for License Form. Fax or emailthe completed Request for License Form to CSI. A license file will be emailed to you. Copy that license directory. le into the installation

A. Install the ETABS Software
1. On the server, insert the CD into the CD drive, go to the Installation page and click on the Network button. (Note that this installation is for le sharing only and not for running the program. If you want to run ETABS on this computer you will also need to complete a clientinstallation per step C.)



C. Install the Client Software
1. Run "Setup.exe,” located in the "ETABS 9 Server" folder on the network server, from each workstation. This will copy support les to the workstation and set up a link to ETABS on the server. 2. Alternatively, you can run the standalone installation on each workstation and have all the ETABS les installed locally. To do this, insertthe CD into the CD drive, go to the Installation page and click on the Standalone button. 3. If ETABS is slow in locating the license (or can't nd it), set the System Environmental Variable LSFORCEHOST on the workstation to the host name of the computer running the License Manager software. Reboot the workstation for the Environment Variable to take e ect. Refer to the System Administrator’s Helpif you need help on setting this variable.

 B. Install the License Manager Software
1. The communications protocol is TCP/IP. 2. The CD also contains the Sentinel RMS License Manager version 8. You must install this version to recognize a ETABS 9 License. If you are currently running an earlier version of SentinelLM, then it should be uninstalled prior to installing this version. Note thatall commuter licenses should be checked in before uninstalling the old version. Click on the License Manager button on the CD and follow the instructions to install it. (Note that you can install this software on any Windows NT/2000/XP computer on your network; it does not have to be installed on a server.)
