Heel: The part of the needle that is fixed to the handleat the bottom of the needle bar arm. Has a cylindrical shape and sometimes presents a longitudinal section, which helps for exact positioning of theneedle in the machine.

Eye and tip: The eye is the hole where the wire is placed, this usually ovoid shaped. Below the eye is the tip, which should always be sharp.
