Twain's legacy lives on today as his namesakes continue to multiply.  Houston, Texas, has a statue of Twain sitting on a bench.. There are several schools named Mark TwainMiddle School in different states. There are also other structures, such as the Mark Twain Memorial Bridge.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910),[1] better known by his pen name Mark Twain, wasan American author and humorist .”mark Twain” means that is safe to navigate. He is most noted for his novels, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876), and its sequel, Adventures of HuckleberryFinn (1885),[the latter often called "the Great American Novel.Twain grew up in Hannibal, Missouri, which would later provide the setting for Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer. He apprenticed with a printer. Healso worked as a typesetter and contributed articles to his older brother Orion's newspaper
Twain eventually traveled all over America (and beyond), paying attention to how people really spoke andwhat really entertained them. He published poetry, jokes, tall tales, nonfiction, and, of course, some of the greatest novels in American history. His characters Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn seemto capture the meaning of boyhood, America, and life on the wild Mississippi River.
