Marketing’s impact on society as a whole has been criticized. Discuss the issues relevant to this impact.

Marketing’s impact on society as a whole has been criticized. Some of these criticismsare justified, but many of them dont. Social critics claim that certain marketing practices hurt individual consumers, society as a whole and other businesses.
Consumers are very concerned about theway the marketing system serves their interests. Consumers, governments and other critics have accused as a disadvantage the marketing of harm consumers by raising prices, fake advertisements, highpressure sales, poor quality or unsafety products , and poorly planned o services to consumers.
Many critics accuse the marketing system to make the prices higher than they would be with the existenceof more sensible systems. They point three factors: High costs of distribution, high costs of advertising and promotion and excessive overpriceing
Fake practices are misleading consumers tobelieve they will receive a greater value than they actually receive. Fake practices can be classified into three groups: Prices misleading, deceptive and misleading Promotion.
Fake prices are deceptivepractices such as false advertising prices, including practices such as misleading advertising, exaggerating by the time they describe the characteristics or performance of the product and attractcustomers to the store with a reduction of stock items. The fake presentation is to exaggerate the contents , not fill the container to the top, use misleading labels or describe the size in false terms.Sometimes, sellers are accused to apply pressure to convince people to buy goods that they never thought to buy. Sellers are trained to talk fast and convince at all costs. Sellers push for salesbecause of the high commissions that bosses promise such as great rewards to those who sell the most.
