“I’m happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation. “ This argument was the one thatinitiated Martin´s speech. For me, this argument is important because it convinced people that he was worried for them and he was going to fight until the end for their liberty.
“One hundred years later,the life of the negros is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregations and the chaims of discrimination. One hundred years later the negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of avast ocean of material prosperity.” This argument is maybe one of the most important of the speech for me because it shows that the negro has suffered a lot and that they never give up but thatthey´ve had enough suffering.
“One hundred years later, negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And some we´ve come here to dramatize ashameful condition.” This line of the speech is important because it shows how they have suffered but that they won’t be violent trying to fight for their rights but they are protesting in a peacefulway.
“ The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers as evidenced by their presence here today,have come to realize that their destiny is tied to our destiny.” It is very important because he is saying that white people are realizing that the skin color doesn´t matter at all, that they are allthe same, that there is an equality and that is a very important step for freedom.
“And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we should always march ahead.” This line of the speech is veryimportant because it might be short but it sends a large message, it is a message of never giving up, a message that shows that they are all very strong and they are always one step ahead of the others....
