Martin Luther King is a well known, inspiring man, to all cultures of the world. King was and still is one of the most influential heroes. King's views and beliefs, whichwere similar to the nonviolence ideas of Gandhi, helped African Americans to obtain the rights and liberties that was their birth right. King faced many obstacles on his quest like jail and evenassassination attempts. Despite these obstacles, he became a successful leader during the Civil Rights Movement, and even after his death, by guiding African Americans in a non-violent and positive directionfor the fight to secure rights and equality.
Martin was a clergyman, activist, and prominent leader. He is best known for being an iconic figure in the advancement of civil rights. He had greatcourage and passion to defeat an racial segregation and racial discrimination through civil disobedience in the United States and around the world. King is often presented as a heroic leader in thehistory of liberalism. He expanded values to include the vision of a color blind society, and established his reputation. He was one of the greatest orators in history.
King attended Booker T.Washington High School. In 1948, he graduated from Morehouse with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, and enrolled in Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvania, from which he graduated with aBachelor of Divinity degree. King became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. King then began doctoral studies in systematic theology at Boston University and received hisDoctor of Philosophy.
