Differences between American and Chinese cultures.

On the American andChinese culture we can find a lot of different thing for example. We may find a lot of differences such as Social Relationships, social structure, Friendship, Obligation, business relationship, freedomof expression, moral and values, Collectivism vs. Individualism and Recognition of the Dead.
The social relationship for Chinese people, Formal, hierarchical. People most comfortable in thepresence of a hierarchy in which they know their position and the customs/rules for behavior in the situation. American people feel more comfortable with their social equals; importance of social rankingsminimized. Deference between us and the Chinese people are the social structure. China has a very formal and hierarchical social structure that extends to business, institutional and family life. Forexample, children are expected to respect their elders with the oldest family member commanding the greatest respect. In America, there is greater fluidity between groups with workers, managers,children and adults often making joint decisions and enjoying social occasions together. Next we have the friend ship were Americans have a Large collection of friends and acquaintances which changes overtime and involves only limited mutual obligations were the average friendship is of 5 to 7 years. The Chinese people have Small number of close, lifelong friends who feel deeply obligated to give eachother whatever help might seem required. Obligations, for Chinese people this is very important because the Relationships with other people involve reciprocal obligations. For American people isdifferent. Because we avoid interdependent relationships and situations that might entail long term obligations. The Business relations reflect the collective and individual nature of both societies....
