CHAPTER 1

Mr a Mrs Wormwood had a daughter /doter/ called Matilda and an ordinary boy called Michael who was 5 years old than her. They are were so busy with their unimportant business that they didn´t realize that Matilda was very clever and that Michael wasn´t as wonderful as they thught. ( no era tan maravilloso como lo pensaban). Matilda could speak perfectly and read fast and very wellsince she was very little. But her parents didn´t buy books to her ,because they didn´t want her to read: they want her to watch TV.
But Matilda read every afternoon. She went to the library and asked for some books to read. She stayed there reading interesting and difficult books. During (durante) 6 months she read 14 books and then Mr Phelps let her borrow books ( le permitio tomar prestadoslibros), so every week she visited the library.

CHAPTER 2

Matilda´s father bought /bot/ and sold cars : he made a lot of money from doing it. But he took in people (engañaba la gente): he used to buy old cars (solia comprar autos viejos) with an old gearbox (caja de cmabios) that cost very cheap(barato.. /chip/ ), and mix a little sawdust (aserrin) with the oil in the gearbox and it goesbeautiful for a day or two : long enough ( suficiente .. /inaf/ ) for the buyer (para el comprador) to get a long away. The cars had done a hundred and fifty thousands miles ( 150.000 millas) but he changed the clock so that it reads ten thousands miles(10.000 millas). Matilda didn´t agree /agri/ with him ( no estaba de acuerdo con el) ,she said that it was´t honest. But her father didn´t care (no sehacia problema ../kear/) : he was a small ratty-looking man with a thin moustache (bigote) . He wore(vestia) brightly /braigtly/ coloured jackets with yellow or green ties( corbatas). His wife said thet it was right too.
They were watching TV ,eatting their supper. And Matilda wanted to eat in the dining-room , so she could read a book. But her parents didn´t let her go: they wanted her to watchTV, beacuse they didn´t want her to read. Matilda became angry: she needed to do something.

CHAPTER 3

One morning Matilda took her father´s hat and put glue round the inside. It was very strong. Mr Wormwood didn´t notice anything when he put it on, but then he couldn´t take it off, so he had to wore it all day. Then, at the evening, her wife had to cut the hair dawn to the skin (piel) ,whichleft a white ring.
One evening Mr Wormwood arrived to his home. He was very angry. Matilda was reading a book in the dining-room , and he obligated her to stop reading that stupid book; but Matilda said thet it wasn´t. He didn´t want to hear her, so he took the book and began to pull the pages out(arrancar las paginas) of the book. Matilda was frightened , it was a library´s book!. But she didn´tcry. She started to think a plan. Then she had an idea: she would borrow(tomar prestado) her friend´s parrot (loro) which knew to talk well. Then, when she took it to her home she hid (esconder ../jaid/) behind the cupboard in the dining-room.
That evening, while they were having supper in the living-room ,a voice came from the dining-room ,and it said: hello-hello-hello. they were frightened,they tought they were robbers(ladrones) . They all went together to see, but nobody was there. Another voice came again ,and it said: dead man´s dinner-dead man´s dinner. Now they were more frightened. They thought it was a ghost , so they ran out of the room, and teh next day Matilda returned the parrot.
One day her father returned to his home. He was very happy because he had sold five carsthat day. He mad his son write all the money he had won and then said him the result /risalt/. He said that he needed 10 minutes to answered ,but Matilda at that moment said how much it was. Her father stayed in silence ,angrily.

CHAPTER 4

Matilda started to go to school when she was 5 and a half years old, because her parents forgot to send her. The head teacher was caled Miss Trunchbull....
