When watching the Matrix in this past week, I had the opportunity to interpret this movie differentlythan the way I have interpreted it before. I realized how I could dig in deeper into the message of the movie and the different types of senses and perceptions it provides. The Matrix is all aboutseeing the world in a different perspective and if it was all created and making the audience believe reality is indeed not real. When talking about the role of the senses it implies that the five sensesare being used as a tool of the "matrix" that controls our reality. The matrix confuses especially your senses of sight and sound, which are tricked with unimaginable information, that are given tous in the movie the Matrix. As I said before, the Matrix can have the power to convince the audience that our reality is not true and it is just a made up program and this, is a fact that we cannot beone hundred percent sure if it is true or not. We cannot have enough prove or justification to know the exact truth about reality and how did we, humans get here.
In the allegory of thecave, Plato’s point is that the many sayings of our language are not names of things we can physically see, they are names of things we are not able to see and that we create with the mind. This happenswhen prisoners are inside the cave and that they cannot get out nor turn their heads, they see books which are really shadows meaning that they are interpreting something with their minds that is notreality. This allegory is completely related to the Matrix in many ways. Actually, we can argue that the Matrix was created based on this wise saying. In the Matrix, the real world is completelyimagined and people are seizing with the mind things that are not really the truth. Because of this, the real world in The Matrix is ironically very like what happens inside the cave in the allegory....
