Thanks to this case, now we can understand the phenomenon in which the whole world is immersed. Nowadays any kind of businesses are involvedin Globalization; that means organizations are searching for domination in global terms. McDonalds called it McDonaldization because it’s the best example of this phenomenon.
This big and well-knownfirm works with a market geocentrical orientation, which means it considers the world as the unique market, the one it must reach. We can prove this fact just by seeing more than one hundred of thisfast food restaurants in every single country around the world. As a company, they recognize as the most important aspect, the fact of keep the same image, product and service no matter where they arein.
This different strategies, definitively, are or could be a model for any kind of business which want to gain profitability (McDonalizated companies). One of them is the standardization, the onethat allows them to reach good positioning as low-cost manufacturer and marketer of product line. According to this, we notice it’s an opportunity to gain cheaper labor costs and scale economies. It’simportant to see that this activity, McDonaldization mustn’t be synonym of ‘copy’; we just refer to this as a way of Benchmarking, for instance, because of it’s a way to allow enterprises to followcertain steps and ways of managing the companies; action which makes them to be ‘McDonalizated’.
In the case, it’s also shown and mentioned the well-known dimensions of Classic Approach. We all knowthey are efficiency (the most important), calculability, predictability and control. For McDonalds those are concepts that can be undirectly related. Even we know this Approach is quite rigid or...
