Arena Political Party
The Nationalist Republican Alliance (ARENA) is a right-wing political party in El Salvador.ARENA controlled the presidency continuously from 1989 until losing the 2009 presidential election. However it gained a plurality in the Legislative Assembly in the 2012 election. El Salvador has aleft-wing government, but this Government is focused on exterior policy with the communist countries, and forgets the main problems that Salvadorans experience everyday. Nowadays, El Salvador is one of thepoorest countries in Central America, and It is also one os the most violent. It is a subject of growing worry over street gangs, organized crime and drug trafficking. The Salvadorans living abroadare not happy with the situation in El Salvador. In New Jersey, there are many Salvadorans who work beside ARENA because they want a better future for their families in El Salvador. I am part of ARENAteam in New Jersey. ARENA makes me believe that It is possible to contribute and participate in the policy of our country.
We are a group of 30 people who started to meet six months ago. We createda directive, and each person has obligations. The directive is formed by the president, vice President, secretary and volunteers. The president is responsible to be in touch with the leaders of ourparty in El Salvador, and he is also responsible for our bank account. He has to give us a summary of income and expenses. The vice president works with the president, and he replaces the presidentwhen he is not present. The secretary sends the invitations for the meetings, and takes notes of agreements. The volunteers attend meetings, and they cooperate in different activities. For example, Thevolunteers make pamphlets, and they leave them in Salvadoran restaurants or laundromats. They also cooperate to prepare the snacks for each meeting. Most of the time the volunteers are who invite new...
