Description:
Mercadona is a distribution company. It works in the supermarket industry. It is also completely Spanish owned and run. Thechief executive officer of Mercadona is Juan Roig and in a lower percentage Paco and Fernando Roig.
Mercadona has a network of customers that includes over1,310 supermarkets. These supermarkets together represent almost 15% of the total food retail space in Spain. Mercadona is present in 46 provinces and 15communities.
The company serves over 4.3 million customers. These customers have their needs met by more than 63.500 (2010) people who work for Mercadona. All ofthese employees have permanent contracts. The company boasts its many advantages over other grocery suppliers.
In terms of quality, Mercadona buys straight fromthe source and keep high quality control standards. It has developed several of its own products to keep a variety in the stores. It’s brand names areHacendado, Deliplus, Bosque Verde, Solcare, Como tú , 9.60 and Compy. It also offers a selection of over 700 gluten-free products in it’s stores.
