Aircraft Mechanic Engineer
Description
Aircraft maintenance technician, as used in the United States, refers to an individual who holds a mechanic certificate issued by the Federal AviationAdministration; the rules for certification, and for certificate-holders, are detailed in Subpart D of Part 65 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's). Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMT's) inspectand perform or supervise maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration of aircraft and aircraft systems. In the US, aircraft maintenance technicians usually refer to themselves as A&Ps, forairframe and powerplant mechanics.
Skills Required
1) Equipment Maintenance -- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
2)Repairing -- Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
3) Troubleshooting -- Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
4) Operation Monitoring -- Watching gauges,dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
5) Critical Thinking -- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusionsor approaches to problems.
6) Quality Control Analysis -- Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
7) Complex Problem Solving --Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
8) Reading Comprehension -- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in workrelated documents.
