In this chapter we saw the media characteristics that we have to be aware of. Those include Fleming’s six element typology of teaching tasks andobjectives. Those elements are:

Attention, it we can increase students’ attention by a large variety of activities with graphics and animated movement, attention could be individual, selective (toone part of the content), and fluid (to shift learners attention). perception, here the learner selectively focus on make sense of stimulation in the environment, and recall involves the ability toremember and make use of relevant prior learning; organization affects perception , so everything as to be clear for the student also they will learn by comparing and contrasting similarities betweencontents. Sequencing, from the genral to the specific and if we are predictable is easier for them to get the point. feedback to enable students to monitor their progress, not all students require thesame kind of feedback, for mature learners errors the why has to be very well explained, feedback has to be prompt but not immediate, and it can be reduced as the learner becomes more proficient.learner participation will be given with practice, feedback and application so the declarative knowledge goes through procedural knowledge to craft knowledge. In the last one we create new concepts, and wecome until it by the “Higher-order Thinking”, we follow 8 steps, signal learning (involuntary responses), stimulus-response learning (voluntary responses), motor-chain learning (performing a sequenceactions in a certain order), verbal association or verbal chain (reciting responses to cues) multiple discrimination (responding differently to similar stimuli), concept learning (comparingproperties of phenomena), principle learning (making relationships), and problem solving recalling previously knowledge in combination to achieve a goal).
