RESUMEN
Las demandas que establece el siglo XXI al desarrollo social mundial,
obligan al sector educativo a realizar una profunda reflexión y revisión, demanera que se haga una adecuación del currículo escolar para que los
usuarios puedan incorporarse a ese mundo globalizado e informatizado, si
se pretenden lograr aprendizajes efectivos y los niveles de calidad educativa
pretendidos a nivel mundial y discutidos en reuniones de los organismos
internacionales (UNESCO, 2001). En tal sentido, el presente estudio
documental tiene como propósitoanalizar diversas alternativas
instruccionales diferentes a las tradicionalmente utilizadas en la educación
superior, donde la clase magistral tradicional sea sustituida por una docencia
que propicie la construcción de los conocimientos y el desarrollo de hábitos
y habilidades en un contexto socializador y donde el rol del docente sea
de mediador pedagógico más que de trasmisor deconocimientos e
información. Las universidades tienen el deber de estar a la vanguardia de
los avances científicos, tecnológicos y culturales, ya que los profesionales
que están formando no deberán egresar ajenos a la que será su realidad
laboral, tal como lo afirma Avila (2001). De allí que se insista en que los
nuevos procesos educativos deben estar dirigidos a la obtención de
aprendizajesinnovadores, a través del uso de estrategias de procesamiento
de la información y los conocimientos para que los vayan incorporando a
su construcción intelectual y aplicando en la solución de problemas de su
cotidianidad laboral y social. Aquí juegan papel importante las Nuevas
UNIVERSIDAD DE CARABOBO / FACE
Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación, entre cuyos aportes a
laeducación destacan: contribuir a un aprendizaje innovador,participativo,
interactivo, individual y colectivo (según sea el caso).

ABSTRACT
The demands that the XXIst Century poses on the world social development,
force the educational sector to perform a deepanalysis and
revision of the school curriculum to do the adaptations that will permit
students to incorporate themselves into a world that is immersed in the
processes of globalization and computarization as the only way to achieve
effective learning activities that conform to the high quality levels that are
pursued worldwide and that are discussed at international meetings
(UNESCO,2001).In this sense, the purpose of this bibliographic study is
to analyze diverse instructional alternatives that differ from the ones that
traditionally have been used in higher education. At this level, the traditional
magistral class must be substituted by an active practice that allows
the construction of new knowledge and the development of skills and habits
in a social environment inwhich the instructor becomes a pedagogic mediator
and not only one who transmits knowledge and information. As
Avila (2001) points out, Universities must be in the vanguard ofthecultural,
scientificandtechnical advances, so that their alumni be professionals
adapted to the real and current needs of their particular fields. Therefore,
all new educational processes must be led to obtaininnovative learning
through the use of strategies to process information and knowledge
that allow the students to incorporate them to their intellectual construction
and to apply them in the solution of daily problems within the social and
