En representación del Directorio y de todas las personas que integran La Polar, me es muy grato dirigirme a ustedes para presentarles la Memoria Anual y los Estados Financieros del Ejercicio 2006. Tal como ha ocurrido año tras año desde 1999, el 2006 fue otro añoenormemente positivo para La Polar con respecto al crecimiento y rentabilidad de la compañía, superando ampliamente los resultados del 2005. Los ingresos de explotación alcanzaron los $303.071 millones, lo que representa un aumento del 23,6% comparado con el período anterior. La utilidad consolidada de la compañía, por su parte, totalizó $27.055 millones, lo que significa un aumento del 37,9% conrespecto al resultado del 2005. Junto al crecimiento registrado en los ingresos de explotación, la compañía ha logrado una mayor eficiencia en sus actividades operacionales, originada por una disminución en los costos de explotación en relación a los ingresos, desde un 64,5% en el 2005 a un 63,1% el 2006. Como resultado de lo señalado, el margen de explotación aumentó un 28,7%, alcanzando un 36,9%...
