ABSTRACT
The research project that follows is to raise awareness of the disease in women Myasthenia Gravis and the etiology and treatment as it is very rare and the people who have family and lack of information.
The importance of the project is to inform nesesitive women aged 20 to 40 years as on many occasions not even the doctors do not know thatit really is serving, so helpingknow it can prevent the disease at presentation symptoms begin to attend to.
Myasthenia gravis is a disease that affects the nerve impulses that are transmitted to the muscles in neuromuscular joints. It is an autoimmune disease in which the body generates an attack on its own muscle.
Although expectations for people with myasthenia gravis are generally goodwhen treated properly, the myasthenia gravis (MG) can be as deadly as muscle weakness interferes with breathing.
No exception is inherited congenital myasthenic syndrome, or contagious and primarily affects the skeletal or voluntary muscles. Facial and masticatorymusclesmay be affected.
Concepts
Aceticolina:is a neurotransmitter central to the peripheral nervous system. If this does not travelthrough the space between a motor neuron and a muscle cell, there would muscle contractions
Antibody: protein that reacts against an antigen in an animal-like body. The antibodies, which may be found in the blood or other body fluids, are used by the immune system torecognizeand block viruses, bacteria, parasites or fungi.
Autopsy:medical procedure that uses dissection to obtain anatomicalinformation about the cause, nature, extent, and complications of the disease he suffered in the autopsied subject and allows making a medical diagnosis or definitive end to give an explanation for the clinical observations dubious and evaluate a given treatment.
Calabar bean: tropical vine plant native to East Africa can reach up to 15 m. The stem is woody at the base and herbaceous top and is coveredwith lanceolate leaves. The flowers are purple and are shaped like a bean. The fruits are flattened pods about 15 cm long containing between 1 and 3 seeds of a large size. The seeds contain 0.5% extremely poisonous alkaloid, particularly Physostigmine.
D-tubocurarine: is an alkaloid produced by blocking nerve impulses to the motor endplate level producing a muscular paralysis.
Hyperplasia:increased volume of tissue due to an abnormal increase in the number of cells which constitute.
Neostigmine: is a quaternary ammonium anticholinesterase that inhibits the enzyme cholinesterase
Neurotransmitter: is a biomolecule that transmits information one neuron to another neuron consecutively connected by a synapse.
Physostigmine: alkaloid extracted from the Calabar bean, it is a very toxicsubstance with sedative properties of the spinal cord and parasympathetic nervous system stimulant.
Swallowing: reflex and partly voluntary closure airway by the epiglottis and muscle contraction and esophageal peristalsis.
Synapse: is a specialized intercellular junction between neurons or between a neuron and an effector cell that is almost always glandular or muscular.
Thymectomy: The firsteffective treatment for myasthenia consisting thymic tumor removal
Thymoma: benign tumor of the thymus.
Thymus: An organ of the lymphatic system, responsible for the maturation of the deep cortex (or paracortex) and bone, dying it dark superficial cortex, and medulla after making light colored stain. The bark is composed of closely packed cells, epithelial cells called lattice surround dingepithelial groups of lymphocytes, and macrophages
Voluntary muscles: are living things made with consent and is due to the excitation of nerve cells that stimulate the affected muscles and inhibition of cells that stimulate opposing muscles. A nerve impulse is a change in the electric potential in a nerve cello fiber, which is measured in millivolts, and lasts a few milliseconds, can be recorded by...
