Rafael Sanzio:

Biography:
Rafael Sanzio was born the 6th of April of 1483 in Urbino and he died the day of his birthday in the 1520 in Rome, was an Italian painter and architect of theHigh Renaissance. His career was divided naturally into three phases and three styles: his early years in Umbria, the aftermath of four years in Florence (1504-1508), where he absorbed the artistic traditionsof the city, and finally the last and triumphant twelve years in Rome, working for the popes and their court. His masterpieces were “The Madonna Sixtina”, “The School of Athens and”, “The transfigurationof God”.
He passed most of his life in schools of art in Florence until his dead with 37 years old.

The Madonna Sixtina:
It was made by Rafael Sanzio between the years 1513 and 1514, it isbelieved that the painting was intended to decorate the tomb of Pope Julio II; actually it is conserved in Germany. In this painting is represented the virgin with a boy in her hands supposed to be Jesuswith Saint Sixto, Saint Barbara and the two angels in the lower part of the painting. This painting was made in the honour of Saint Sixto because of that he appears in the painting and there are sixfigures in the painting.

The transfiguration of God:
It was made by Rafael Sanzio between the years 1517 and 1520; this work is considered his last painting, left unfinished and is believed to havebeen completed by his pupil Giulio Romano shortly after Raphael's death in 1520, the painting was commissioned by Cardinal Giulio de Medici in 1516.
In this painting appears an appearance of Christwith two apostles at the eyes of some people in a field. At the bottom Rafael is representing the Apostles trying unsuccessfully to free a child possessed by demons that were unable to heal the sickchild until the arrival of Jesus, recently transformed, who performed the miracle.
