Installing Q’Pit in Windows
1. Make the software ‘bin’ directory (normally \q3\bin or \qpit\bin)
Copy distribution files to this directory including the qpit exe,hoops32.dll, wintab.dll, wintab32.dll,
QPitTabletData.dll, msw.hdi, hpgl.hdi and postscri.hdi
2. Create your project START-IN or‘WORK’ directory (normally \q3\w or \qpit\w)
$under the work-in directory, create the following subdirectories:

q3fls

q3_tmp

q3_data

q3_gsm



3. Set the Environment Variables
Goto: Start- RUN -Regedit (newversions and win2000 and xp)
Highlight HKEY_CURRENT_USER and select Add Key from the Edit Menu
Keyname:
CLASS:

HOOPS
REG_SZ (default class)

Highligh HOOPS and selectAdd Values from the Edit Menu

q3_screen
0.81

q3_screen sets the screen spect ration. It should be 0.65 of widescreens, but can range from 0.63 to 0.68.
Adjust the string makethe qpit screen scale properly for your monitor screen size (use the grid to check
that X and Y are the same scale).
The subscreen stretching may or maynot be accepted by youroperating system. If not accepted, delete
the comma and subscreen stretching

4. Make a work shortcut on desktop

Right click on the desktop
$select New
$
select Shortcut
$
Browse to the qpit exe (normally in \q3\bin or \qpit\bin)

Enter the name for the shortcut
$
select finish
Right click on the iconcreated
$
select properties
$
select the shortcut tab
$
modify the start in directory to be the work directory (normally \q3\w or \qpit\w)
$
select OK
