UNIVERSIDAD BOLIVARIANA DE VENEZUELA
Universidad Bolivariana de Venezuela or UBV (Bolivarian University of Venezuela) is a public university created in 2003 by decree of President Hugo Chávez. Theuniversity is part of “Mission Sucre”, one of the government’s social programs, which aims to provide free higher education for those excluded. Consequently, enrollment at the UBV is free and open toall, regardless of academic qualifications, social background or nationality. The government expects the student population to grow to one million by 2009, with more than 190 satellite classroomsthroughout Venezuela.
Students' benefits:
• Library, lunch room, cafeteria, bookshop, computer lab, internet connection, transportation, student insurance, academic and pedagogical programs,information and orientation services, health and dental care.
• Scholarships: Work scholarships, sports scholarships, full scholarships with stipends and
