Book Review Guidelines
The Book Report assignment is to be done individually and will count for 30% of the final grade.
The Book Review requires that you answer 4 questions regarding thebook . Keeping in mind that in this course we are looking at culture, history, society,. The total length of the report should be between 4 to 5 written pages.
Some names will be familiar, othersnot at all. Our suggestion is to take a tour of Wikipedia to get a feel for the writers and their work, choose one and go for it! In addition, you might want to check out NPR.ORG, or Google as many ofthese writers are living and give interviews; it might be interesting to listen to them speaking, answering questions about their work.
Also, it is amazing how cheap some of these books are throughAmazon.com, from the US. or Britain. Remember used books are always cheaper and of exceptional value for money through Amazon .FNAC also has plenty of choice!
The answers should be, as GeorgeCarlin joked about, in your own words. We realize that it is very tempting and actually quite easy to “lift” passages from reviews in internet. It is worth pointing out that it is also quite easy forteachers to discover this. The policy is clear, anyone found to have plagiarised a report will receive a zero.
