The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is an inspirational book that changes people’s lives. People sometimes can’t understand the real message andthe important things that an author wants to show in a book because the vocabulary is so hard to understand. Paulo Coelho, the Brazilian writer, has an incredible writing style; helets us understand the real message easily. Moreover he uses an everyday language. The most important novel wrote by him has been The Alchemist. This is a thoughtful book that changespeople’s lives because it is written of Santiago, the main character who in the book fights to reach a dream. Santiago has different troubles following his dream; for example, when he leftSpain and decided go to Egypt, a bad man stole his money and that wasn’t fair because he was in a foreign country. But he doesn’t give up his dream. He continues believing by himself torealize his intention. Later he meets the most beautiful woman in the world. They fall in love, but they can’t stay together. She is a desert woman and she tells him that she loves him buthe has to continue his journey. While Santiago is making his dream true, he realizes that in life, nothing is easy. If you want to reach your personal legend or project in life it isnecessary that you fight for the things that you really want, no matter the obstacles that appear in your way. He says to never give up your dreams. In daily life, people usually have problemsreaching their personal goals, and when they feel this dream is impossible, they just leave everything back, thus losing the real desire of their lives. This story makes us an invitation tofight for our dreams and personal purposes. I want to relate an interesting phrase by Paulo Coelho: “It is the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”
