What could have happened if Ecuador would have signed the TLC? 2004

United States pretended to impose a deal that would have reinforced the domination of Latin countries and that could have subordinated not only the economy and the trade, but also all the life of the countries in the plan ofthe international companies, such as: FMI, Mundial Bank BID, OMC. The American government pretended to control according to his benefits the tangible goods such as: recourses, agriculture and public institutions; and the intangible goods such as biodiversity, intellectual property, basic services, education, health and social security. He wanted to have an exclusive area to solve theoverproduction crisis, in order to face the competition of other capitalist blocks. TLC would have destroyed the national production. Social organizations rejected this deal because it is not a common deal. American government wanted opening for its products and capitals, but he didn‟t want to attend our needs such as the elimination of the foreign debt. If Ecuador had accepted this deal, our production wouldhave destroyed especially agricultural products; moreover the basic services could have reduced (education, social security and health), the unemployment, the violence and poverty would have increased. Certainly, there was not negotiation because this DEAL shows a deep inequality in all the fields. For us, it would have been a supra constitutional deal because it would have obligated us to changeour Political Constitution to benefit American interests. Fortunately, USA could not impose its deal of misery because social organizations had raised their voice of protest. Finally, TLC was not approved thanks to the fight of social organizations and popular movements.
