Maria Montessori taught a new attitude and a new way of looking at children. The Montessori Method is based on scientificobservations related to children's ability to absorb knowledge around it, and the interest they had for materials that could manipulate. Each piece of equipment, every exercise, every part of the methoddeveloped was based on what she observed that children were "naturally," by themselves, without help from adults. Montessori was not only to develop a new way of teaching, but to discover life and helpthe child reach their potential as human beings.
