Note About Version Numbers
IBM Guardium Data Encryption 2.0 is the same product as Vormetric Data Security (VDS) Release 5. VDS Release 5 consists of Data Security Manager Release 5, and Vormetric Encryption Expert agent Release 5. The Key Vault andKey Agent features of Vormetric Data Security are not available with Guardium Data Encryption 2.0.

New Features
The Windows agent Release 5 has significant performance enhancements and new features that improve the scalability, resiliency, security and resiliency of the agents. The following is a list of important new features introduced in Release 5: • Hardware Cryptographic accelerationusing Intel AES-NI instructions • Support for Volume Shadow Service • MSI installer and packaging • Integration with directory services such as Active Directory • Security features (requires Security Server Release 5): • Automatic Certificate renewal • Offline agent recovery using challenge/response
