Reggeton Music Make Children Become More Violent
Music has been said to influence in the behavior of people, especially young people. A specific type of music that is said to increase violentbehavior in children is the “reggeton”, which includes several references to sex, drugs and violence in its lyrics. However, this is a false statement, for music won’t make an average boy more violent norit will increase his probabilities of becoming violent.
Regetton music is mainly produced by people of low economical and social status, where drugs and violence are seen often and are included in thelyrics of the songs, so it´s not a surprise to find words like “kill” or “marihuana” in a reggeton song. These lyrics, concern people who might think that their children could start doing drugsbecause of the song, but it’s very unlikely, for a song it´s nothing more than that, a way in which the singer gives his/her point of view, it´s not a way to brainwash children.
There has been cases inwhich people have committed suicide and left a song playing or even the lyrics of the song written in a paper, and it´s been said that that song made that person end his/her life, and referring toreggeton music, its seen how gangs listen to this music and it´s said that behave in the same way the lyrics dictate. This is also misunderstood, for when a person or a group of people perform indecentacts and are said to be imitating a song, it’s not the song that made them do that, the person itself would certainly do it, the song it’s just an excuse.
The fact that reggeton is heard by children,worries people, for children are likely to imitate things they constantly hear, but to say a child will become violent for hearing the word “kill” in a song, is too farfetched, words like that are hearddaily in movies, overheard in conversations and even heard in conversations with friends and family, there is no solid evidence that indicates a rise in violence in children that here this type of...
