My Summer Vacation

Around four months ago, my grandma notified me that she would give me an early graduation present—a trip to both, Florida and New York City. I had not traveled for 5 years, so,naturally, I was ecstatic! We first traveled to Manhattan, New York, where we stayed in a little apartment just a block away from Times Square. I wasn’t traveling alone with my grandmother—therewere also six other family members with us. The thing is, being in the apartment wasn’t exactly the most luxurious thing ever. For eight people it was small, restricted and, with the heat, simplyunbearable. We had air conditioning but only in our rooms… and there was nothing to do in our rooms except sleep. The television was located in the cramped up living room, so, we had to sacrifice ourchilly, breezy rooms for entertainment. But luckily, we spent most of our time out and about in the Big Apple. As expected, life in Manhattan is eventful, full of activity. It was a bit of a rush,watching so many people and cars pass by in a hurry. I shamelessly loved the environment and would even be willing to live there but my family didn’t agree with me on that one. Nevertheless, we went toso many places, so many stores, and so many restaurants! Walking around Manhattan can be tedious and tiresome, but thankfully we traveled around tour buses which made the experience much better.Personally, I thought the best moment of the trip was taking the night tour: there are so many lights lit up, it’s a beautiful sight. It’s like food for the eyes – so many things to see and I was justtrying my best not to miss anything.
One week later, we traveled to Orlando, Florida. To be honest, going to Florida was less exciting since I’ve actually been there before. However, I still enjoyed it– we went to Universal Studios and Disney World, who wouldn’t enjoy that?
