Napoleon Dymamite
1. Do a film review. Comment on all of the following: cast, costuming, set, special effects, etc. DO NOT use any outside sources, this is to be all based on your ideasand observations. Support your ideas with details from the film. The movie was a little bit boring, the actors were on their character but sometimes what they said wasn’t clearlyunderstand, the set was fine, I didn’t really notice any special effects during the movie.
2. What is the connection of the movie to our theme of Identity (Role I play)? Consider who iscomfortable with their identity, who is not, who is trying to change and who is quite happy the way they are. I really didn’t find a connection, because I am not geek but neither I am the mostpopular girl in school. The popular guys are comfortable with their identity, Napoleon is at the beginning of the movie he is not comfortable with his identity, his brother changesidentity when he is with his girlfriend, and Pedro is happy the way he is.
3. Is there a character you can most relate to/ sympathize with? What would you like to see happen or change for thischaracter? What challenges do they face? Where do they find happiness? I didn’t find any character that I am related to, but Pedro sympathized me, I really don’t like him to change, hefaced the challenge of how to became the President and he finds happiness by becoming the President.
4. Choose 3 quotes from the movie and indicate why they are significant. I don’tremember any quote from the movie for me, in the movie there wasn’t any famous saying or important quote, there were only words.
5. What is the writer/director's message to the viewer? Proveit with evidence from the movie. I think that one is everyone finds happiness, another is don’t be afraid to show who you are, everything is possible, and love always finds its way.
