CONDITIONAL: REAL CONDITIONAL
Se utiliza para hablar de posibilidades reales en tiempo general y hechos dudosos pero posibles en el futuro.
FORM: la oración condicional comienza con IF/IF…NOT (o a veces UNLESS). El verbo normalmente esta en presente.
La oración de resultado suele contener verbos en presente (para hablar sobre posibilidad en “tiempo general” o en futuro yen modales tales como CAN, MAY, MUST o SHOULD (para hablar sobre hechos dudosos en el futuro).
Se puede comenzar una oración con una oración condicional o de resultado.
POSSIBILITIES IN GENERAL TIME.
(El verbo de la oración de resultado está en presente).

EXAMPLES

CONDITION CLAUSE RESULT CLAUSE
Unless you give plants enough water, they die,
If is isn´t cold enough it doesn´tsnow

RESULT CLAUSE CONDITION CLAUSE
It´s times to eat angry unless are you not
Talk to your plants. If you want them to grow,

UNCERTIME EVENTS IN THE FUTURE
(La oración de resultado tiene un verbo en futuro o en verbo modal).

EXAMPLES

If you said that again, I´m going to hit you,
If it rains, I´ll take an umbrella,
Ifshe doesn´t study, She main fail the exam,

RESULT CLAUSE CONDITION CLAUSE
They will come to the party, if they find a baby-sitter,
I´m going to buy a new dress, if I get pay today,
He won´t wash the car, unless you pay him,

PAS PERFECT: PROGRESSIVE
Use:
Se utiliza para hablar de acciones o estados continuos que continuaron hasta un determinado momento del pasado.FORM:
[SUJET+ HAD/ HAD NOT+ BEEN + VERB + ING…]
(HADN´T)

USE of FOR and SINCE
Si queremos decir cuánto tiempo duró la acción o el estado, generalmente utilizamos FOR al principio de la expresión de tiempo
For ten minutes,
For twenty years,
For two centuries,

Si queremos decir cuando comenzó la acción o el estado utilizamos SINCE, seguido del tiempo o de otra expresión que indique eltiempo.
Since two o´clock,
Since last Monday
Since 1975,
Since the end of the war,
Since I was a baby etc,

PAS PERFECT: SIEMP
USE:
Se utiliza para enfatizar que un hecho aconteció antes que otro (conectando mediante conjunciones como (WHEN Y BEFORE) o en el modo indirecto, cuando el verbo informante esta en pretérito y la información o idea original estaba en pretérito o presenteperfecto.
También utilizamos el pretérito perfecto para interrumpir un relato (en pasado) con una referencia a algún momento anterior (antes de que empezar el relato)

I went home. I was very tired and I wanted my supper. But when I arrived I couldn´t get into my house because I had left the key in my office

PAS PERFECT
Se utilizapara enfatizar la diferencia temporal entre dos estados, acciones o hechos en el pasado que se mencionan en la misma oración. Por lo general empleamos el pretérito perfecto si queremos enfatizar que un derecho o una acción aconteció antes que otro.

EXAMPLE
I was really surprised when I met Fred at Jill´s party last weak. I hadn´t seen him five years, and he looked really different. I askedhim what he´d been doing since we left school, but didn´t tell me.

PAST PERFECT SIMPLE
USE
Se utiliza para enfatizar que un hecho aconteció antes de otro (conectado mediante conjunciones como WHEN Y BEFORE) o en el modo indirecto, cuando el verbo informante está en pasado y la afirmación o idea original estaba en pretérito perfecto.
FORM
AFIRMATIVE
[SUBJECT + HAD (+ adverb) + past participle[V3]….]

EXAMPLES
She has arrived when he came in
We had already eaten by the time arrived
The opera had just begun when we arrived
I had never been in love until I met you

REPORTED SPEECH
[PAS TENSE + (THAT)+ PAST PERFECT]

EXAMPLE
I thought (that) you´d already seen this
She said (that) she´d never met me before
