Natural disasters
A natural disaster is a sudden event that causes widespread destruction, lots of collateral damage or loss of life, brought about by forces other than the acts of human beings. Anatural disaster might be caused by earthquakes, flooding, volcanic eruption, landslide, hurricanes, tsunamis etc. In order to be classified as a disaster it will have profound environmental effectand/or human loss and frequently incurs financial loss.
Type of disasters
1 Geological disasters
1.1 Avalanches : An avalanche is a sudden, drastic flow of snow down a slope, occurring when eithernatural triggers, such as loading from new snow or rain, or artificial triggers, such as snowmobilers, explosives or backcountry skiers, overload the snowpack.
1.2 Earthquakes : is the result of asudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves.
1.3 Volcanic eruptions : During a volcanic eruption, lava, tephra (ash, lapilli, volcanic bombs and blocks), and various gasesare expelled from a volcanic vent or fissure.

2 Hydrological disasters
2.1 Floods : A flood is an overflow of an expanse of water that submerges land. A flood is a temporary covering by waterof land not normally covered by water.
2.2 Limnic eruptions: A limnic eruption occurs when a gas, usually CO2, suddenly erupts from deep lake water, posing the threat of suffocating wildlife,livestock and humans.
2.3 Tsunamis : is a series of water waves caused by the displacement of a large volume of a body of water, typically an ocean or a large lake. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions andother underwater explosions (including detonations of underwater nuclear devices), landslides, glacier calvings, meteorite impacts and other disturbances above or below water all have the potential togenerate a tsunami
