Compare/Contrast Essay.
Gibson and Fender are two musical instruments corporation (that centers in guitars) that are much related in same ways but arevery different in some others. Knowing which one is the best one is a question a lot of musicians asks themselves before investing in one of this two brands. This is a question that cannot be preciselyanswered because each brand focuses in different guitar tastes that are tied to people’s desires and likes. The tone of each guitar that each brand has is an original sound that characterized thecorporation towards the other ones. Gibson is characterized by that mellower crunchy tone like Guns N Roses one, while Fender is known by their famous bright belly tone, which is basically used forjamming and bright music. These two brands basically differences can be resumed in their tone woods, their guitar body shapes, their design and their timbre.
Now, comparing more inside thesecorporations, we have a guitar model with which each brand is represented and characterized. Gibson is represented by the classic Les Paul that has its famous crunchy sound while Fender has by their side theclassic Stratocaster with the incredible funky sound. As I said, saying which one is best depends basically in what you want to play. It really depends on people’s personal style, so saying which one isthe best is a question that cannot be answer precisely. Gibson and Fender marked their differences from the beginning, in the 50s. While the Gibson Les Paul uses two different types of wood that wereused to create very solid bodies (maple and mahogany), the Fender Stratocaster build its body from Aliso, which is equivalent to a lighter wood. This causes in the first case deeper vibrations thatare retained in the wood while in the case of the Fender the body vibrates more subtly.
